Animals really are a man’s best friend, but instead of owning a run-of-the-mill pet pooch, people around the world have gone above and beyond for the most incredible animal and human friendships.
Whilst most people would be terrified to find a brown bear in their backyard, there are others who couldn’t live without one - or in Johnny Welde’s case - 13 of them.
His best friend is a 900lb grizzly bear called Bruno, who stands over 8 ft tall and shows off a set of razor sharp teeth.
Or Mark Dumas, from British Columbia, who amazed the world with his morning swims with his 800lb friendly polar bear.
According to lizard king Eric LeBlanc, a 19 ft long python and bearded dragons are ideal pets and are especially enjoyed by his three young children - even after getting bitten by them.
Instead of your standard moggy, some animal enthusiasts prefer the larger cats.
Fearless Randy Miller has trained his tiger Eden to leap 15 feet and pile-drive him into the ground in a perfect fake tiger attack. From an outsider, it would look like Randy's days are numbered as the huge predator mauls him on the floor.
But it's all part of the duo's purr-fect act as Randy walks away unharmed. The dad-of-two rears his cats from birth and uses his lifelong bond with them to achieve wild things on the big screen in movies such as Gladiator.
The love people have for their animals can sometimes make them to go extreme lengths. Rose Ann Bolasny adores her pampered pooch Bella Mia so much that the Maltese is set to inherit her owner’s fortune when she passes away.
And the crown for pet dedication goes to 18-year-old Mangli Munda from India, who showed her commitment to stray dog Sheru, by marrying him in a traditional ceremony.
Barcroft Animals is a YouTube channel dedicated to the very best animal stories from, thrilling caught-on-camera moments to unusual animal friendships.
